Acceptable Use Policy

This policy protects DB Hosting customers, infrastructure and third parties. It applies to hosting accounts and other services that allow you to upload, publish, transmit or execute content.

Prohibited use

You must not knowingly use DB Hosting services to:

• break applicable law or facilitate criminal activity;
• host or distribute malware, phishing material or fraudulent content;
• gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts or networks;
• send unsolicited bulk electronic messages in breach of applicable law;
• infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights;
• host content whose possession or distribution is unlawful;
• deliberately disrupt networks or services, including denial-of-service activity;
• misrepresent your identity in connection with fraud or abuse.

Security and resources

You must take reasonable steps to secure scripts, applications and credentials. Activity that materially and persistently harms shared infrastructure or other customers may be restricted where reasonably necessary to protect the service.

Reports and investigation

We may investigate credible abuse or security reports. Where appropriate, we may ask you to remove or remedy material, temporarily restrict affected functionality, or suspend a service where reasonably necessary to prevent ongoing harm or comply with law.

Suspension and termination

Except where urgent action is reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or prevention of serious harm, we will normally seek to act proportionately and give an opportunity to remedy a breach. Serious, repeated or unlawful use may result in suspension or termination in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable law.
