Cancellations & Refunds
Important: Consumer cancellation rights depend on the type of service, when performance begins and the circumstances of the order. Personalise this page and obtain professional advice if your exact sales model is uncertain.
Recurring hosting
You may request cancellation of recurring hosting by contacting YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. State your notice period and whether cancellation takes effect immediately or at the end of the paid billing period.
Consumer cooling-off rights
Where UK consumer distance-selling cancellation rights apply, consumers are generally given a 14-day cancellation period. If you want to begin providing a paid service during that period, your checkout/process should obtain the customer's express request and explain any payment consequences permitted by law.
Website design work
If a customer asks for bespoke work to begin immediately, set out how cancellation works once work has started and how any amount due for work already performed will be calculated where lawful.
Refunds
Set out your refund policy clearly. Do not use this template to remove rights that a consumer has by law.
After hosting cancellation
Explain how long website files, databases and email are retained after termination and whether a backup/export is available. Suggested operational policy: provide a reasonable export window, then securely delete data according to your retention policy.
